| The Greater Phoenix Chapter No. 98, NAWIC, was chartered on 06 March 1965.
During the General Membership Meeting held on 27 March 2005, the chapter celebrated its 40th year as a NAWIC chapter.
The chapter was honored to have some very special guests in attendance to
help us celebrate this milestone event. Among those were NAWIC National
President Nancy Eaton, National Vice President Julie
Foret, and Past Region
8 Director Debbie Christensen.
From within Region 8, we were delighted to have as guests Sue
Motley, Robin
Roberts and Arlene Todd from the Tucson Chapter
as well as Fostene Derr of the Phoenix East Valley
Chapter.
The meeting room all but overflowed with the attendance of the Greater Phoenix
Chapter No. 98's Past Presidents.
Not only was this a special event because of the chapter's 40th year
since being chartered but also because the chapter took the occasion to honor
one of its most special members - Lodine Robinson. You see, Lodi is a charter
member - how fitting to enjoy her company, as we do at every meeting, event,
and get-together.
With all the joy Lodi has brought us over the years, the chapter finally had
a way to say "thank you" to her by naming the Construction DictionaryŠ endowment fund in her honor.
No Chapter No. 98 event is ever complete without entertainment. To that
end, Mary Duffy and Pam Dullum spent countless hours pouring over literally
thousands of photographs, selecting those representing each of the 4 decades
of Chapter No. 98's existence, scanning them, and creating a slide show that
brought delight and giggles to the room. Comments such as "Look at that hair!"
and "Is that me????" were heard during slides from the 60s and 70s.
Event coordination doesn't happen by itself. For that, the chapter has Mary Duffy
and Sharon McGuinnes to thank. As always, the evening was a spectacular
display of
organizational skills combined with a sense of humor and pride. |
